Icmeler
Icmeler area is just 8 km away from Marmaris, and is the quieter of the two resorts. By day soak up the sun, or try out the range of water sports on offer, then the evenings can be spent in any one of the numerous pleasant bars and restaurants.
There are delightful gardens to stroll around, boat trips to nearby sandy coves, or you can pick up a dolmus any time for a short ride into Marmaris, if you are after the more serious shopping or nightlife.

Turunc
Overlooked by mountains and pine forests, Turunç is small but offers everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The unspoilt resort still offers something of the real Turkey and a wonderful laid back atmosphere. Its sand and shingle beach is lined with bars and restaurants and it is very good for watersports. If you prefer a change go to Amos Bay. Its a 1 hour walk but offers spectacular views and ends amid the ruins of an old castle and amphitheatre.
Another good beach with clear crystal waters can be found at Kumlübük Bay.The resort of Turunç may be small but it has quite a lot of shops on the main street, which runs slightly inland parallel to the front. Look out for gold and silver jewellery, carpets, leather goods, pottery, wood crafts and silverware. For a wider choice, Marmaris is only 45 minutes away by boat.
