WELCOME TO KUSADASI
Kuşadası is a lovely seaside resort town on the Aegean Cost. It is a very well known resort among the European holiday-makers. It is a stop for many cruise ships as well.
Kuşadası means "Bird Island", gets this name from "Güvercin Ada" or "Güvercin Adası" which means Pigeon Island and can be easily recognised by the small stone fort which was constructed in 19th century for defense aginst and offense that might have come from other Aegean Islands. The history of Kuşadası dates to many centuries BCE, but the modern history begins with the medieval ages. In those times known as "Scala Nouva", Kuşadası was visited by Venetian and Genoese traders.
During the reign of Ottomans, in 1413 Öküz Mehmet Pascha ordered the constructions of a mosque, a hammam (turkish bath), city walls, and a caravansearai which is now a hotel and the best place for Turkish Night Shows, to improve the city's prospects as a trading port with Europe and Africa.
Kuşadası offers a variety of activities such as the ancient cities of Ephesus, Priene, Miletus, Dydma, Hiearapolis...,diving, boat trips, waterparks, ferry to Greek Island Samos, jeep and horse safaris and so on... The Night Life of Kuşadası with its bars, bistros, cafes, discos, restaurants, has a lot to offer its visitors.
Kusadasi is due to be an eminent resort for the upcoming millenium. It is also in the center of leading historical and other natural sites. Izmir Airport is merely 1 hour away from Kusadasi. The cities and famous sites are accesible via local bus (Dolmus) of which most are possible to reach within a day. Ephesus can be visited by dolmusl and only takes a surprising 35 minutes. Beautiful secluded coves are waiting to greet you with your own choice of yachts, be it a bareboat with fully equipped sails or a beautifully crafted gullet.
